[Advanced-java] Problem in displaying Timer

I have a timer which has a delay period of 1 second. I have placed the
timer inside a jtable. Suppose there are 30 records, the timer doesn't
work for a few records. It updates the time after 10-15 sec. I am using
java.util.Timer. I am updating the cell by firing the fireUpdateCell
method in AbstractTableModel class. Also this class extends JLabel so that
I can display the timer in a JTable. I have already tried using
javax.swing.Timer. Same problem. How can I rectify this problem?
