[Advanced-java] Syntax Highlighting - using Swing - JTextPane

Hi,
I wonder how I can do some Syntax Highlighting in my JTextPane. The user just enters some sentences,things....and the prog should highlight certain words that the user entered , f.e. "house". 

How can I highlight certain words that the user enters ? As I already mentioned, I'm using a JTextPane and JDK1.3.1. Any links,suggestions....help in general appreciated. I tried to do it using a KeyListener but it did not work.
