[Gegl-developer] Why C and why CVS?

Hello!

I am a big fan of free software and I really like the GEGL initiative. This 
way GIMP will have a better chance vs Phothoshop.

I do, however, have some questions.

1. Why is C picked as the development language? Isn't C++ THE pick for this 
kind of library (a typical modular based library)?

2. Why is the old CVS chosen instead of the newer SVN?
