Have a look at the Limiera mailing list, espcially their current 
threads on scheduling.  LInks to these messages can be found at

It seems to me that they're dealing with 
related issues, although with a different set of constraints.

Though I don't think it's time to merge the projects (it will probabyl 
never be), I think both would benefit from shared ideas and shared 
brainstorming..
