It would seem reasonable to assume that if the user has selected a
size/quality trade-off given by a specific value, say, quality=98 he does
not want to have to explicitly remake that decision every time he touches
it.
Also this info I part of the header and part of specification of that file
so arbitarily changing it would seem to me to be a spec violation.
Does your reply indicate you take a "this feature not a bug" approach here
and you think is the best way gimp should deal with this situation?
