[Gimp-developer] Enhancement Proposal: Add a temporary magnifier

I was unable to locate any discussion covering a "tracking view  
window" and was hoping someone could either explain it or provide a  
link to an explanation.

It would seem to me that, depending upon how it were implemented, a  
view window with tracking capabilities might be sufficient to meet the  
needs of the user without having to resort to the implementation of a  
new tool.
