25 seconds on my Dell Latitude d600, the first time, and closer to 7
seconds if I quit and start again immediately.

About 10 seconds on my desktop.

Both run Linux.

For my part I really *like* the tips.  Although I would like them
more if they linked to tutorials and documentation either on the GIMP
Website or locally ("read more...").
