thank you, sorin and nicolas  for the informations.

i wanted to be sure that my project was a good idea and i didn't offend the
gimp team.

i was affraid of breaking the law of copyright, that is why i didn't
organize my book (anyway, it's too much to call it book; it's rather a
collection of tutorials for my beginner students). your answers gave me the
courage i needed.

i'll be back... (with more questions, of course) :)
