[Gimp-developer] Focus strange behavior

Hi !

One can use the TAB key to hide the tools windows in gimp, but it will 
only work if the image window has keyboard focus. That mean that if I 
want to draw something on my picture, i have to :
-Select a tool
-Click on the image window to give it keyboard focus
-Type TAB
-Draw
What I would expect would be :
-Select a tool
-Type TAB
-Draw

Is this behavior made this way on purpose or is it a bug ?
