of course we wan't to encourage you to support the GIMP docs team by  
translating the help files to spanish.
Opposite to what you wrote, there are some chapters translated to es  
already. Feel free to have a look to http://docs.gimp.org/es/ .
To get started with your work, I'd suggest you have another look, to
