[Gimp-user] Getting RGB information in GIMP 2,4

Hello,
I have just installed Gimp2.4 and have run into a problem: I cannot find 
a way to display the RGB brightness information under the cursor. In 
version 2.2x I brought this up by pressing F8, but that does not work 
for me in 2.4. I have searched Help and the menus, but still cannot find 
it.
I must have missed something basic, but am stuck!  and I would 
appreciate any help to find this tool.
