[Gimp-user] Loading the GIMP program

HELP ME PLEASE!

I loaded the GIMP program on my computer, but whenever
I try to open a picture I need to edit with the GIMP
win remote, I get the following message:

usage: gimp-win-remote.exe gimp-x.x.exe file1 file2

I originally had GIMP installed and working on my
computer, but a computer crash forced me to dump
everything.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do or what files I
need uploaded, to be able to open pictures through the
GIMP?

I am a novice computer user, so please just tell me
where to go, what to click on and what to upload.
