Gimp is alraedy able to do that plugin  already exist

i should search the link but you may do by yourself, plugin is by JamesH  

you may browse the plugin board of www.gimptalk.com to find JamesH announcement with links for windows binary (and ,in case you want use with linux or hack, with the link for the source code )
