I talked to Yosh about whether it would be possible to make the
transition from the old site to the new one around the end of this
month.  He said that it should be OK.  It is likely that there will be
a new machine to replace wilber (the current www.gimp.org) and the new
website will be installed on that machine, which will then become the
new www.gimp.org.

Regarding what has to be done before the transition, I think that the
most important thing is to implement the new menu structure and to
populate the /source/ directory (which has to be added to CVS).  This
is mentioned in bug #119246.

I do not consider any of the open bugs as blockers, except for the one
mentioned above because it will change some URLs.  It would be nice to
fix as many bugs as possible before the launch, but it will still be
possible to fix them later if necessary.  I will try to work on some of
them as time permits (e.g., Netscape compatibility or some bugs that
are easy to fix).
