Since there seems to be a bit more activity related to the web sites, I
thought that it could be interesting to try and resurrect this list.
This also serves as a test message to check that the list is still
working.

So here is a (partial) list of things that have changed since last
year on www.gimp.org - the "old" site, not the new one:

- I made several updates to the list of FTP and WWW mirrors
(http://www.gimp.org/download.html). Some of these had a
corresponding bug report in Bugzilla: bug #78408, bug #102518, bug
#103642 and bug #104410. Still open: bug #105400.

- I fixed several broken links and typos in various pages. There are
too many to list here, but you can check bug #74855, bug #78409, bug
  #80163, bug #81116, bug #87989, bug #88589, bug #83836, bug #101569
and probably a couple of others...

- Sven and Mitch added several news items on the front page,
  announcing the new releases.

- For each new version of the GIMP that was released, the links to the
download directories were updated semi-automatically on many pages.
The links to Bugzilla with version-specific queries were also
  updated (see "Bugs" on http://www.gimp.org/devel_ver.html).

- I changed the explanation about how to use TrueType fonts on the
  Resources page (http://www.gimp.org/fonts.html). The old
information was wrong and outdated (bug #100990).

- Sven made some updates to the old tutorial, as reported in bug
  #92793 (http://www.gimp.org/tut-basic.html).

- I replaced or complemented some links to the old User FAQ and
Developer FAQ with some links to the GIMP User Group FAQs.

- I added more references to the GIMP User Group (GUG) on several
pages, such as the home page or http://www.gimp.org/links.html
because this is a useful source of information and a rather active
  community.

- In several pages, I added links to the Windows, MacOS X and OS/2
  versions of the GIMP.

- I removed some obsolete questions (still refering to GIMP 1.0) from
http://www.gimp.org/webmasters.html. In several pages, I changed
the contact information and pointed to the webmasters page, which
now recommends to use Bugzilla to report any problems or suggestions
for the web site. Using Bugzilla for the web site is the best way
to ensure that several people can take care of this in a timely
  manner.

- Open issues: bug #94028, bug #101532, bug #84912 and a few others.

I don't know if anybody cares about these updates, but at least this
is probably more relevant as a test message than the usual "test,
please ignore"... :-)
