yes, Sven and everyone are back from paris for a long time now. right
now we are waiting for the gnomecvs passwords. i asked that everyone
who had committed to my humble little cvs server get access. hopefully
everyone was contacted.

i really looked at what i had going at that point, and there were some
huge holes in the plan there. since then lots of those issues were
attended to.

this list was created because one of the people who had been active was
feeling left out when school started for him. i find it a big pain in
the rearend and used it to send a document that could be gotten via cvs
or even online at that point and a little history letter that if anyone
is interested i will forward here.

one of the old gimp web masters told me that he didn't think that mail
lists were very good for this sort of thing. he was right about the
private one. in my opinion.

i haven't had time for the lists i am familar with lately, either ...

i had to take a class in pop psychology to be a resident advisor in the
dormatory. most of the stuff i learned was crap, except for this one
thing. people from the usa get really defensive when you start a
sentence with the word "Why". apparently it only gets used in the
negative here and it makes us all defensive. i read that one line and i
think to myself "because that is how it is written!!"

can you rephrase this for me?

also, i don't use them on cgo, should i?

i didn't know that the alt tags disappeared. i have a person
responsible for validation. prolly this will be fixed.

well, it will be tough. but we are going to have to fit the windows
information into the same design as the rest of the site. i think you
are up for the challenge ....

on a side note, branko. i was thinking about making a style for the
files that i am taking right out of the gimp source that will make them
look like they do when viewed in notepad. what do you think about this?
do you think that would be useful to help the wingimp users to get
comfortable reading text files?

this might be an issue for anyone contributing from a windows
environment. i dunno how it works there. even with the warning there.
and even being one of the ones who can do this and who knows it is a
pain in the rearend, i still forget. so if you are adding a file and
need it chmoded, i will be more than happy to do so for you. totally my
pleasure.

branko, so nice to hear from you again!! i am sorry you are not on the
irc as often as you were. i owe you my voice on a computer readable
file!!
