Yes, and I fully agree with these statements. (*1)

I think that the new site (mmmaybe) is a good starting point for
pushing a newer GIMP (*2). This is the reason why we decided after
GimpCon to make the transition from the old to the new site during
this month, shortly before the first gimp-2.0 release candidate is
released.

So I do not think that it would be valuable to delay the transition.
It was originally planned for the beginning of this month, but it was
delayed because Yosh didn't think that the content was ready (in
retrospect, he was right). But now that everybody can safely navigate
through the new site without finding too many holes, we should launch
it as soon as possible so that we can have a new base on which we can
add content related to the new release.

If I am not mistaken, there are several developers who are waiting for
the new site to be launched. Having a new web site ready around the
same time as the first pre-releases for 2.0 would probably attract
more attention from all GIMP users (or would-be-users) and would
hopefully renew the interest of potential contributors (for the
application as well as for the web site).

(1) Before anyone interprets this in the wrong way, I would like to
mention that I am not agreeing with these statements because they
would confirm or infirm any of the statements that I have posted
here recently. I simply think that this is the way we should all
behave. And yes, this applies to me as well.

(2) In other words, there is no need to start another site from
scratch and discard what has been built so far. I am surprised
that Carol is suggesting that, considering that she has
    contributed a lot to mmmaybe.
