[Gimp-web] next.gimp.org bad performance

hi all!

just wanted to note that I experience very bad performace when viewing next.gimp.org. 
some things need 100% cpu for a certain time and make my system unresponsive. 
these things are:

* fade in effect of the menu
* when i click on a screenshot, it takes at least 5 seconds until the in-document-window is opened (browser does not respon in this time).

this is a P4 2,4GHz system with an Geforce 5 Nvidia graphics card and the free driver (i'm not going to install the proprietary driver). the problems also occur on a similar system.
