Because in my opinion these awards are just ads. They are not primarily
given for showing respect to free software developers but as a way to
increase the number of links pointing to the web-pages of the
company/magazine/whatever giving out the award. A software award is
usually just an ugly GIF image that you are supposed to put on your
front page. It doesn't have any value besides being free advertisement.

It shouldn't be difficult to adapt the stylesheets for
developer.gimp.org. I don't care much what color is chosen for it.
