There are that many split threads it's difficult to know where to reply, so
I'll come in here.

I think I've said before that I'm also keen to update the site and have begun
work to this end. I'll just restate that here. Maintenance should be a lot
easier once the content has been updated.

The only thing I feel I need to add to the discussion is that I don't like how
the wiki is separated from the rest of the site. For example, to view the FAQ
you have to redirect to http://wiki.gimp.org, which feels like a completely
different site.

It would be nice if the entire site was managed by the same CMS/wiki - perhaps
we can discuss that at some point in the future - but at the very least the wiki
portion of the site should *look* like it's a part of the Gimp website.

WRT the history page, I think its purpose is quite useful, esp. for putting Gimp
into context. It's also a good place to address some faqs such as the difference
between Gimp and Gimpshop, Cinepaint et al, what GEGL is and why it was
designed, and so on. It's also a good place to garner interest in the project,
which is no bad thing. I was intending to bring it up to date after I'd finished
the changes to the mailing lists page.

Incidentally, should I attach patches here or to bug reports?

Regards,
David
