Exactly. I know that Gimp and Cinepaint share a common origin, but today -and when that article was written too- Gimp and Cinepait (Film Gimp) are two different things.
Maybe the article is not inaccurate, but is misleading.
The other side effect of using this kind of information is that people with enough knowledge about professional image editing and compositing could think that the "Gimp in Film" topic is a cheap tactic to borrow some prestige from Cinepaint.
IMO, uur Gimp has enough merit of its own. Why not focusing on it?
