I've been trying to track this one down and it completely puzzles me.
There is a whitelist in Drupal for file extensions, which usually
contains things such as jpg, png, pdf and so on -- these extensions
work fine.
I added "c" and cpp -- worked fine, too. Then, I added pl, py and scm
but that had no effect whatsoever, instead adding ".txt" to the
filename, just as Michael described. When I try nonsensical entries
such as "blub", they do work!
My current guess is that something else besides Drupal is at work
here. Maybe Firefox or PHP itself changes extensions it recognizes as
"dangerous scripts"?
Does anyone have information on this issue?
cheers,
