Hi

The Downloads page can certainly be improved, someone just have to do
it. The absolutely best way to make something like this happen is to
provide patches to the website. The website is version controlled with
SVN in the GNOME repository, and the module name is gimp-web [1]

Personally I like the Download page structure/system that Firefox has:
