I'm talking about a basic listing of the core features. It doesn't
matter if it is maintained or not, it's just to give the visitor a list
of things that Gimp can do. I wouldn't remove that.
I would remove the old feature descriptions and old screenshots, because
they may be misleading. But I don't see any reason to remove a list that
describes the things that gimp can do.
It would be good to add links to complete feature descriptions and
up-to-date screenshots later, but meanwhile a good list is enough to let
potential users know what GIMP is capable of.
Release notes are useful for people who already knows Gimp and want to
know what's new. But a list of features is something useful for people
(say Photoshop users, for instance), that want to know if gimp is
suitable for their needs or not.
