A couple of months ago I was interested on putting some work on the site
and after taking a look on the files I changed my mind. It's so
different than what I do everyday in web design that makes me doubt if
I'll can manage it.
I'm not saying that learning a couple of things is bad, but most of us
do other things for living and we have to work on free projects in our
spare time, and having to use part of that time to learn the internals
of certain things simply makes too difficult to have time to do the real
work after.
I think the best would be a content management system like Joomla or
Drupal. Once the setup and the content sections and categories are set,
the contributors would have a very simple way to manage contents,
without having to learn about svn or other things. Just create/edit the
contents.
I'm aware that migrating the current contents to a new system would be a
hell of a work and would need a lot of volunteers, though.
